History of Dr. TomyDr. Tomy is a coin-op arcade puzzle video game, developed and released by an Italian company Playmark in 1993. This game runs on the first Gaelco games. In the game, the player must align colorful falling pills with also colorful viruses according to their appropriate color. When four pieces of the same color are aligned, those pieces disappear and any attached ones fall down. There are 9 different difficulty settings, selectable from the beginning of the game as a choice of the female patient, which, after completing the level, appears on the screen in an erotically suggestive pose, followed by not any less suggestive sound effects. Dr. Tomy himself yells "Ura" in a clear Italian manner at the beginning of and after completing the level. It is known that the digitized sound was borrowed from another game called Big Karnak, by Gaelco. Dr. Tomy, as the game on itself is an obvious, but slightly more suggestively themed ripoff of Dr. Mario, the game by Nintendo Inc. Dr. Tomy featured a two-player mode available and had a language switch option from default English to Italian. Today the game is considered a classic old game, despite being a copy of Dr. Mario.
