History of Pang Ghost Hunter

Ghost Hunter (also known as Zhuo Gui Da Shi: Ghost Hunter) was released in 1994 by two Taiwanese companies: Jumbo and Senchi Technology.

It is a single player game, which challenges the player to shoot all the enemies on the screen with a harpoon. The game features primitive low-detailed graphics and 8-bit sounds.

Originally, Zhuo Gui Da Shi: Ghost Hunter, is an unlicensed clone of Pang (also known as Buster Bros and Pomping World). Pang features similar, but far more interesting gameplay and style, and is known to be one of the most popular and well-known games of the time in Japan. Pang has received many spinoffs and clones, including the already mentioned Ghost Hunter for Sega.

Despite being a low-quality ripoff, Ghost Hunter has received its own amount of attention from the players. It was not received well, as most of the players recalled gameplay to be boring and the game itself to not have any attractive elements. While that may be true, it is still a part of game history and it stays to stand proudly among the other games of the similar genre.

It was never ported to any other consoles, nor did it receive any sequels. Today it can still be found online, mostly in flash versions, and it still does not amuse the players.
